The Book of Jasmine

Jasmine Evans wants to be free to make her own decisions, but in 2037, society has other plans for her. At fourteen, she must upload her profile to a national online Registry intended to facilitate arranged marriages, which would tear her away from her family and her beloved horse. When her brother arrives home with a handsome refugee, she is impressed by his determination to help others escape oppression. When her brother disappears, Jasmine agrees to lead Tyree to the university, where she finds herself caught up in a resistance movement that asks her to forsake her personal desires to become a spokeswoman for change, through of all things, competing in the Registry Royalty pageant. Can Jasmine survive the world of backstabbing competition to help overthrow the old order? In this hopeful political dystopia, a young woman finds the courage to take up the fight to save the earth.
