Dooms of Love

Emily Earl leaves her husband and their faltering relationship behind when she goes home to care for her father after open-heart surgery. In her father’s house, she must confront his sudden frailty and the warring ghosts of her mother and grandmother as she rediscovers the legacy of love and obligation she has inherited from him. She works on her thesis and looks up old friends Jim and Carla, only to find they have separated. Her growing attraction to Jim is irresistible, but it entangles her in a conflict that threatens to destroy her.
